A historic house. A new chapter.

Sabden House is a Grade II listed former parsonage, built in 1847 and opening its doors to guests for the first time in 2026. We’re already accepting bed-and-breakfast bookings for one bedroom for two guests, with breakfast included. Alongside overnight stays, we welcome conversations about events, short-term stays and other possibilities.

Rooted in history

Built as the parsonage for the nearby Church of St Nicholas, Sabden House reflects the church’s Neo-Romanesque character. Its sandstone exterior, arched doorway and bay windows give way to panelled doors, decorative plasterwork, an elegant hall arch and carved fireplaces. These surviving details are part of what makes the house special.

Set within two acres in the Ribble Valley, Sabden House offers a distinctive setting for corporate gatherings, private functions, weddings and celebrations, as well as yoga, wellness and nature retreats. Its historic interiors and surrounding grounds bring character to both working days and time away.

Private access and ample on-site parking for multiple cars make arrival straightforward for guests and organisers. We’re now accepting bookings and welcome enquiries about events, filming, retreats and short-term stays. Whether you’re planning a multi-day wedding, a corporate function or a wellness retreat, we’ll work around your itinerary, shaping timings, use of the house and grounds, and practical arrangements to suit your event or stay. Share your preferred dates, group size and plans so we can discuss availability and the details with you.

Nestled in the heart of the Ribble Valley

Beyond the house, the Ribble Valley invites you to slow down and explore. Rolling countryside, characterful villages and changing seasons make this a place to enjoy at your own pace, whether you’re here for a short escape or settling in for a little longer.

Spend a day out walking, discover somewhere new to eat, or simply take in the views before returning to Sabden House. There’s room for a full itinerary or no itinerary at all. If you’re planning a visit, ask us about the area and the kind of stay you have in mind.
